Since moving to the Washington DC area, I have met some amazing photographers who come together from Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington DC for seminars, shoot-outs and general fun-making. Everyone is so generous and willing to share their photography knowledge.
As I typically photograph newborns, babies, children and their families in natural light (ie, daytime), it is fun to mix it up a little now and then. This particular seminar was on various types of portable lights and the models were provided ( and gorgeous they were!) so we could try them out.
This week’s Project 52 theme is lines. Well, we waited in lines (well, more like bunches) to have our turn with the model. But really, the lines of the fences and gates made for a contrasting backdrop for such a beautiful face. These were taken at night with just available lights and a constant portable light.

Take a moment to head over to Nancy Schumacher in North Dakota and see what lines she has.
